company: Navdy Inc.
role: Industrial design, UX architecture, ideation & production
built from scratch, built for safety.
Navdy was the first of its kind and required extensive field research, ergonomic studies of eye position and dashboard mount design to accomplish the best viewing experience for the user. designing with ergonomics of a 95% male to 5% female body measurements as our parameters we developed a system with safe and effective viewing angles for 90% of our users.
harsh environment? not an issue.
car interiors have some of the harshest conditions for consumer electronics with temperatures ranging from -40˚ to 120˚, we ensured Navdy could handle it. utilizing proper component placement, heat flow studies and UV resistant paint contributed to dropping the running temperature by more than 10˚.
crisp, bright and innovative optical performance.
working with optical engineers, we found clarity and brightness positioned 6ft from the driver. this gave the perception that the image was floating near the bumper of the car, increasing focus at a proper distance for safer driving.
vital info at a glance, keep the phone away.
