Dial + Mount Kit
Navdy required several supporting products for safe and optimal performance. This included a steering wheel mounted input device, OBD data and power cord, three mounting solutions, 12V adapter and safe cable routing. In unison, they create a seamless and integrated driving experience.

though gesture on Navdy’s main unit was successful with users, many wanted a familiar interface to use when driving conditions did not permit easy gestural activity. the dial was our solution.

iterating on form, knob textures and UX interaction lead to some interesting solutions. the result is a beautiful, yet highly functional and intuitive, secondary input device for the Navdy display.

a tactile input device allows for non visual input opportunities, reducing cognitive load on the driver.
OBD cable & mounts. power supply, car diagnostics and secure magnetic mounting.
providing several benefits to the system is the OBD/power cable. it draws power and on-board diagnostics from the car system such as speed, rpm’s and engine alerts. when integrated with our mount, it provided magnetic security for an easy and safe on / off mounting solution.

one handed, magnetic mounting.
the power cable includes a magnetic area which attracts to the base of the Navdy display for a secure, plug free, power and mounting solution. we designed a ‘lip’ on the mount to eliminate any risk of dismount in case of a vehicular accident.
12V adapter, built for overseas.
a partnership with Renault Groupe sparked a need for a 12v power supply option to accomodate the European market.
